The Centre for Transpersonal Psychology (CTP) is a registered charity and an Accrediting Member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Founded in 1973 by Ian Gordon-Brown and Barbara Somers, it has been a driving force in the development of transpersonal psychology in the UK for over 30 years, and today is situated at the very heart of new, progressive transpersonal ideas, activities and innovation.

The CTP manages a Therapy Referral Service for members of the public and for health professionals who wish to be put in contact with an accredited transpersonal psychotherapist.

CTP is a member of the Humanistic and Integrative Psychology (HIPS) and the European Transpersonal Association (EUROTAS). The Centre’s training standards and accreditation procedures are in accordance with each section’s guidelines and UKCP requirements. Psychotherapists in professional preparation that have met all CTP requirements and completed their additional self-directed studies can seek professional accreditation. Accredited practitioners are placed on the National Register as transpersonal psychotherapists with the UKCP.
