|Membership Categories and Fees|
This is the category of membership for psychotherapists registered with UKCP through The Centre. Such members have full access to all professional support offered by The Centre and appear on The Centre’s list of accredited members. Members are bound by The Centre’s Codes of Ethics and Practice and Complaints Procedures.
Psychotherapists applying for accredited status with UKCP through The Centre are required to become Associate Members. Such applicants have the status of ‘Accredited Member in Preparation’. During the application for accreditation process members are bound by The Centre’s Codes of Ethics and Practice and Complaints Procedures.
This category of membership receives full benefit of The Centre’s facilities and services, excluding those relating directly to professional support given to accredited members.
Affiliates are likely to be:
- practitioners using counselling and therapeutic skills or working from a transpersonal perspective in a related field (e.g. in coaching, education, heath and social care);
- therapists on sabbatical and hence not needing to maintain accredited status with The Centre;
- individuals who have made a connection with The Centre in the past, particularly with the work of Ian Gordon Brown and Barbara Somers, and who wish to maintain that connection and support the work of The Centre.
Affiliates are not bound by The Centre’s Codes of Ethics and Practice and Complaints Procedures. However, The Centre reserves the right not to accept or renew applications for Affiliate Membership where an applicants actions are contrary to the ethos of The Centre or bring The Centre into disrepute.
